Our activities and services for the public rely on the support from a brilliant team of volunteers. We have ongoing opportunities to become a volunteer in a range of areas. Roles vary from being public facing or working behind the scenes in coordination, fundraising, media & communications or office administration.

TRAINEE SPORTS COACH
Help set up, assist and run group sports games & activities at sports camp, church visits and events
Growing young leaders is a central focus of our 2021 Vision. We will be looking to build a team of 16-21 year olds from our existing base of sports coaches as well as new volunteers.
COMMUNITY CAFE HOST
Help set up weekly cafe, serve cake & coffee, make conversation, handle cash, keep statistics
ACTIVITY/EVENT HOSTING
Set up rooms, facilitate conversation, manage equipment
MEDIA CREATOR
Photography and filming of activities, promotional video editing, help design publicity materials
TRUSTEE
Join the board and apply experience and expertise to help direct the charity’s future
REFEREE
Moderate weekly league fixtures and special events
OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
Maintain records, input data, record fixtures & results, develop email campaigns, build social media profiles, help design new projects
FUNDRAISING
Plan one off events an activities, work on funding applications
Volunteer Specification
Enthusiasm to work in a christian community organisation which seeks to support the needs of the community through a range of sports and community initiatives.
Can do attitude. We aim to provide most fulfilling experience that supports your interests and areas you wish to grow in, but we also expect an open mind and willingness to do various tasks where needed to help the team in what we do.
An interest in sport and appreciation for being physically active is desirable. An interest in serving and supporting the community, especially those harder to reach, is most important.
You don’t have to be a christian to be a part of our team, but respectful of our faith and open to embodying principles around integrity, humility, excellence, perseverance, teamwork.
Willingness to engage with different people of all backgrounds across the community, being welcoming with compassion and withholding judgement.
To listen, have patience, and where possible show empathy while putting the needs of others before your own.
Establish and respect personal and professional boundaries at all times while representing the organisation.
Reliability and punctuality in your approach to the work timetable and tasks set.
Organisation and communication skills including willingness to complete administrative duties with an attention to detail.
Flexibility, adaptability and time management in an environment which is subject to shifting and multiple priorities, and changes in direction.
Ability to positively represent the organisation to the public at all times and respect confidentiality of our organisation, the team, and the people we serve.
Commitment to volunteer for a period of time and frequency as agreed with the team.
To respect and be open to instruction of authority while also using initiative and be comfortable in bringing ideas and suggestions to the team.
