Spirit in Sport Internships

Spirit in Sport is an established and growing Christian ministry which depends on teamwork and the contribution of a diverse group of people from different backgrounds, generations, and walks of life, and with unique experiences, talents, and gifts.

We are open to people considering taking part in an internship here at our centre, whether you have a specialised area of interest and ability, or are happy just to help wherever there is need.

Our internship programmes last for a minimum of 3 months and up to 10 months, and are designed to make a meaningful contribution to our service while giving young Christians excellent practical experience, professional, personal and spiritual development, networks and insight.

The internship involves living in Portsmouth (unless the intern already lives locally and prefers to stay at home), serving at our Spirit in Sport base in Somerstown and with our outreach activities, as well as supporting our partner organisations in the city, attending and serving at a local church that is familiar to our organisation, and taking part in our regular Bible study group.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for anyone who would like to work in a committed team of people with a passion to serve the local community with local organisations and churches, get stuck in wherever the need is most, and grow us a Christian.

Intership

A volunteer would work with the Spirit in Sport team as a sports coach and/or in an office-based role. While we expect a willingness and an open mind to work wherever there is a need, and whether it is great or small, the exact roles and responsibilities can be tailored through our flexible intern development programme. The role is likely to include all or some of the following:
